Job Summary
The Baker will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of breads, pastries, and other baked goods in accordance with company recipes and quality standards. The role requires attention to detail, consistency in product quality, and adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods including breads, cakes, pastries, and specialty items.
- Measure and mix ingredients according to established recipes and production schedules.
- Monitor baking processes to ensure products are baked to the correct quality, texture, and appearance.
- Maintain consistency in product quality, taste, and presentation.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of ingredients and finished products.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery workspace, equipment, and tools.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
- Support the development of new recipes or seasonal baked goods when required.
- Ensure equipment is used safely and report any maintenance issues promptly.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate or Diploma in Baking, Pastry, Culinary Arts, or a related field is an added advantage.
- Proven experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef, or similar role.
- Good understanding of baking techniques, ingredients, and food preparation processes.
- Familiarity with commercial baking equipment.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
