Job Description (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) is a body corporate established under The Nurses Act (Cap ) of the Laws of Kenya, whose mandate is to regulate Nursing Education and Practice.REF: NCK/CS/HR/03/DRL/18/03/Overall purposeOfficer at this level is the Head of Standards and Compliance Department at NCK.Duties and responsibilities Overseeing the implementation and review of Nursing and midwifery registration and licensing policies. regulations and guidelines:Developing and reviewing the licensing and registration framework and tools; Overseeing the registration and licensure of nurses and midwives;Maintaining the registration and licensing database:Overseeing the evaluation of internship and retention compliance;Coordinate the implementation of internship programmesConducting research in registration and licensing to inform policy;Coordinating the implementation of internship and CPD programmesMonitoring and evaluating performance in the Registration and Licensing depaflmentPreparing the division’s procurement plans and other work;Monitoring the setting and implementation of the departments ‘s performance managementDeveloping and implementing the departments budgets; and analyzing departments reports for management decisions. Qualifications and person specificationsFor appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: – Served in the grade of Deputy Director, Registration and Licensing för a minimum period of three years or twelve years’ experience, five years of which should have been at senior management positionBachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Midwitéry from a recognized institutionMaster’s Degree in Nursing or Midwifery or any health-related field from a recognized institution; Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of KenyaValid practicing license from Nursing Council of Kenya;Member of professional association of good standing;Certificate in Leadership Course lasting not less than four weeks from a recognized institution;Proficiency in computer application skillsDemonstrated managerial, administrative and professional competence work performance and resultsgFulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
