Job Description/Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor animal health daily and ensure timely intervention in cases of illness, injury, or unusual behavior.
- Promote economic livestock farming by analyzing areas for efficiency improvement
- Ensure animal feeds are available at all times
- Manage herd health, such as vaccination, deworming and treatment of livestock diseases
- Formulation of feed formulas to ensure that feedlot goals are met
- Reporting- annual, monthly, weekly and daily farm reports
- Overseeing propagation and preservation of fodder.
- Manage farm inputs and livestock facilities and equipment.
- Improve livestock productivity
- Ensure the farm complies with animal health standards, and veterinary regulations
- Develop and maintain stringent bio security protocol.
- Maintain detailed records on livestock numbers, production levels, breeding cycles, health
- checks, and treatments administered.
- Any other duty assigned
BACKGROUND
- Diploma in Animal Science, Animal Production, Animal Health, Livestock Production or quivalent;
- Strong knowledge of livestock management husbandry
- Minimum 2 years of experience in animal farming, herd health management, or animal nutrition
