Head Barman
Job summary
A barman to run both the public bar counter and the restaurant service counter. You will be the face of the bar – and the one keeping the whole front-of-house team in line, guest-focused. is looking for a dynamic hands-on leader to oversee daily operations, manage events, and drive business through smart marketing.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Men preferred (due to team / operational setup)
- Minimum 1-year previous experience in a bar or busy restaurant
- Very personable – guests should feel welcome the moment they step up
- Great at communication – clear, calm, and direct with waiters and kitchen
- Able to supervise waiters and other staff – you’ll direct service flow, correct mistakes, and keep counters running smoothly
- Run the main bar counter – serve guests, make drinks, take payments
- Run the restaurant service counter – manage tickets, prioritise drink orders
- Supervise waiters – ensure they’re collecting drinks correctly, communicating allergies, and clearing glassware
- Supervise other bar staff (if any) – delegate tasks, check quality
- Keep both counters clean, stocked, and organised during peak hours
- Open/close the bar – stock, cleaning, cash up
