Position: Home Science Teacher

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Home Science Teacher to join our high school faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in Home Science, including but not limited to cooking, nutrition, sewing, and interior design. The Home Science Teacher will create and implement engaging lesson plans, develop and administer assessments, and provide guidance and support to students to ensure their success.

Key Responsibilities:

1.       Teach Home Science courses to high school students, using a variety of teaching methods and materials to engage and inspire students.

2.       Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state and national standards for Home Science education.

3.       Create and administer assessments to evaluate student learning and provide feedback to students and parents.

4.       Provide individual and group instruction and support to students to ensure their academic success.

5.       Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive and effective learning environment.

6.       Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and achievement.

7.       Stay current with developments in Home Science education and incorporate new teaching strategies and materials as appropriate.

8.       Attend staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and other school events as required.

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor's or Master's degree in Home Science or related field required, with a teaching certification or license preferred.

·         Previous experience teaching Home Science courses to high school students strongly preferred.

·         In-depth knowledge of Home Science concepts, such as cooking, nutrition, sewing, and interior design, and ability to teach these concepts effectively to students.

·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others and build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

·         Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

·         Passion for teaching and dedication to the success of students.

·         Ability to use technology effectively to support student learning and assessment.
