Key Responsibilities
a. Manage the full human resource lifecycle, including recruitment, selection, onboarding, staff engagement and separation.
b. Support the development, implementation and maintenance of the HR policy framework in line with good HR practice and legal requirements.
c. Oversee employee leave management and ensure compliance with statutory requirements and the Sacco’s leave policy.
d. Coordinate training and development programmes for employees and board members to enhance capacity and performance.
e. Support performance management processes in line with the approved performance management policy.
f. Oversee daily office operations, including correspondence, office supplies management, office organization and general administrative support.
g. Supervise support staff to ensure cleanliness, orderliness and smooth office operations.
h. Ensure compliance with relevant labour laws, employment regulations and internal HR procedures.
i. Promote and maintain a safe and healthy working environment in compliance with occupational safety and health standards.
j. Ensure disciplinary and grievance handling processes are conducted fairly, transparently and in compliance with the law.
k. Maintain and update confidential employee records in compliance with data protection requirements.
l. Provide administrative support to the CEO, including managing schedules, correspondence and filing systems.
m. Coordinate administrative logistics for Board, management and committee meetings, including scheduling, venue coordination, document distribution and action tracking in liaison with the CEO.
n. Oversee the Sacco’s centralized filing registries, ensuring compliance with internal records retention policies and data protection requirements.
o. Coordinate planning and execution of Sacco events, including logistics and hospitality arrangements.
p. Oversee reception and hospitality services for Sacco visitors and stakeholders.
q. Prepare and submit regular departmental reports highlighting key activities, challenges, progress and recommendations.
Minimum Requirements
a. A university degree in Human Resource Management, Business degree.
b. Possess a valid IHRM HR Practicing Certificate. Certified Human Resources Professional, CHRP-K, is highly preferred.
c. At least five years’ relevant experience in a similar role, preferably within the financial services sector, Sacco sector or a service-based organization.
d. Strong knowledge of Kenya’s labour laws, HR regulatory framework and employment practices.
e. Excellent communication, interpersonal, planning and people management skills.
f. Ability to initiate and manage change while fostering positive working relationships with staff, management, board members and other stakeholders.
