Skills Global Limited is recruiting on behalf of a Microfinance Institution based in Nakuru for the position of Human Resource and Administration Officer. The Human Resource and Administration Officer will be responsible for coordinating human resource and administrative functions to support effective people management, compliance with employment laws, efficient office operations and the smooth running of institutional support services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate recruitment, selection, induction, deployment and exit processes in accordance with approved human resource policies and applicable labour laws.
  • Support the review, implementation and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures and staff guidelines to promote compliance and consistency.
  • Administer employee leave, attendance records and staff welfare while ensuring proper documentation and timely reporting.
  • Monitor compliance with employment legislation, HR regulatory requirements, internal procedures and good HR practice.
  • Coordinate occupational safety and health matters, including workplace safety checks, statutory compliance and implementation of health and safety procedures.
  • Support fair handling of employee relations matters, including discipline, grievances, consultations and workplace conflict resolution.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential and up-to-date employee records in line with data protection requirements and internal records management procedures.
  • Prepare periodic HR and administration reports covering staffing matters, administrative activities, compliance issues, emerging risks and recommended actions.

Minimum Requirements

  • A university degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Possession of a valid IHRM HR Practising Certificate. Certified Human Resource Professional, CHRP-K, will be an added advantage.
  • At least three years’ relevant experience in a similar role, preferably within the financial services sector, microfinance sector, Sacco sector or a service-based organisation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, planning, organisational and people management skills
