DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest Service & Order Management

·       Welcome guests warmly upon arrival, escort them to their tables, and present menus promptly.

·       Inform guests about daily specials, answer questions regarding menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods, and suggest suitable food/beverage pairings.

·       Accurately write down or enter guest orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system and communicate any special dietary requests to the kitchen staff.

·       Serve food and drinks to tables promptly, neatly, and in accordance with established restaurant service etiquette.

Table Maintenance & Hygiene

·       Prepare tables before guests arrive by ensuring clean linens, tableware, glassware, and condiments are in place.

·       Clear dirty dishes, cutlery, and glasses during and after meals, and sanitize tables promptly for the next guests.

·       Keep dining areas, wait stations, and service equipment clean, organized, and hygienic throughout the shift.

Billing & Guest Experience

·       Present accurate bills to guests, handle payments (cash, mobile money/M-Pesa, or card), and process transactions correctly.

·       Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their meal, address minor requests promptly, and report any complaints immediately to the supervisor.

·       Consistently represent the restaurant’s values through a respectful, positive, and hospitable demeanor.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

·       Certificate in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Service, Catering, or a related field.

·       Previous work experience as a waitress, server, or host in a restaurant, café, or hospitality setup is preferred (entry-level candidates with a strong hospitality background/attitude are also encouraged to apply).

·       Well-groomed, neat appearance, excellent personal hygiene, and a confident, respectful manner.

·       Strong verbal communication skills in Swahili and English, with a welcoming and polite attitude toward guests and colleagues.
