Key responsibilities.

· Support proposal development, pitching and donor/client engagement.

· Develop and refine business growth and scaling strategies for SBC and its clients.

· Provide advisory on market entry, diversification, and expansion strategies.

· Support SMEs and startups in developing investor-ready business models and scale-up roadmaps.

· Guide organizations in aligning strategy with sustainability, ESG, and inclusive business principles.

· Conduct sector and market analysis to identify growth opportunities, risks, and competitive positioning.

· Advise on organizational design, governance structures, and operational models that enable scaling.

· Mentor entrepreneurs, founders, and leadership teams on business strategy and execution.

· Design and facilitate capacity-building sessions on growth strategy, investment readiness, and scaling.

· Support SBC’s own strategic positioning as a leading sustainability and ESG advisory firm in Uganda and East Africa.

Qualifications and experience

· Master's degree in business administration, Strategy, Economics, Entrepreneurship or related field.

· Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in business strategy, management consulting, venture scaling, or corporate strategy.

· Proven track record of supporting SMEs, startups, or corporates in scaling operations and accessing new markets.

· Strong understanding of sustainability, ESG frameworks, and impact-driven business is highly desirable.

· Excellent analytical, facilitation, and strategic planning skills.

· Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders (entrepreneurs, corporates, investors, development partners).

· Strong communication and mentoring skills.

· Ability to work independently on a part-time/consultancy basis.
