Job Summary

We’re looking for a hands-on, owner-minded Restaurant Launch & Operations Manager to set up and run Shilla’s BBQ in Parklands. You’ll handle setup, staff training, systems, suppliers, and daily operations — building the restaurant from the ground up.

  • Minimum Qualification : Diploma
  • Experience Level : Mid level
  • Experience Length : 5 years

Job Description/Requirements

Shilla’s BBQ is looking for a skilled Chef who can also supervise the restaurant
You must know how to cook the following essential items: mishkaki, grilled meats, pizza, and choma dishes.
Experience with Suya (Nigerian-style grilled meat) is a strong bonus.

Key Responsibilities

Cooking & Food Prep

  • Prepare BBQ dishes including choma, fish, mishkaki, suya, grilled meats and pizza

  • Maintain consistent quality, taste, and presentation

  • Oversee food prep, portioning, marination, and general mise-en-place

Kitchen Supervision

  • Lead and coordinate the kitchen team during service

  • Ensure smooth workflow and timely service

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation

Administration & Operations

  • Daily sales & cash reconciliation

  • Stock control: ordering, receiving, and stock counts

  • Maintain prep lists and production schedules

  • Report issues to management and help ensure everything runs efficiently

Requirements

  • Proven experience with BBQ, grills, and choma-style cooking

  • Strong cooking skills, fast and reliable

  • Ability to supervise and guide others

  • Good organisational abilities

  • Basic admin capability (records, stock tracking, simple reconciliation)

  • Honest, disciplined, and able to work under pressure

Preferred Experience

  • Able to cook all key menu items (BBQ, choma, mishkaki, suya, pizza)

  • Experience making Suya or mishkaki is an advantage

  • Previous role as a senior cook, chef, or kitchen supervisor

  • Experience in small restaurants or grills
