Civil Project Manager

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 12 years of progressive project management experience in large-scale civil or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary civil engineering teams, including structural, geotechnical, and infrastructure professionals.
• Extensive knowledge of all project lifecycle phases: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
• Demonstrated success in cost control, budget management, value engineering, and project scheduling.
• Proficiency in project management tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Strong experience in vendor management, procurement, contract negotiation, and administration.
• Thorough understanding of HSE standards and applicable Kenyan regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder-management, and interpersonal skills.
• Active registration with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) or an equivalent international professional body.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary civil project teams and manage complex construction portfolios.
• Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle from planning through completion.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables.
• Direct cost control, budget management, value engineering, and project forecasting.
• Manage procurement processes, contractors, vendors, and project contracts.
• Ensure civil designs and construction works meet technical specifications and quality standards.
• Manage variation claims, project finances, and contractual obligations.
• Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where required.
• Ensure civil engineering works comply with HSE standards and Kenyan regulations.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Provide regular project performance reports to senior management.
