Job Description
Develop and execute the company’s e-commerce strategy to achieve growth and profitability goals.
Oversee daily online operations — including product listings, pricing, promotions, inventory coordination and logistics/returns.
Manage and optimize the company website and/or marketplace stores (e.g., Jumia, Kilimall, Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, etc.).
Drive traffic and conversion through digital marketing activities such as SEO, SEM, social media campaigns and email marketing.
Analyze key performance metrics (traffic, conversion rate, AOV, CAC, retention rate, etc.) and generate actionable insights.
Ensure a smooth and engaging customer journey, particularly for mobile users.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams — marketing, supply chain, logistics and customer service to deliver seamless online operations.
Explore and implement new online growth opportunities, including new channels, automation tools, CRM and loyalty programs.
Lead and mentor a small e-commerce team, managing performance and development.
Qualifications & Experience
Must-Have:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Business, E-commerce, Information Systems or related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in e-commerce operations, online retail or digital marketing.
Hands-on experience with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento or marketplace platforms.
Strong knowledge of digital marketing tools — Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook/Instagram Ads, SEO and email marketing.
Analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into insights and actions.
Excellent communication, project management and cross-team collaboration skills.
Goal-oriented and highly self-motivated.
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Preferred:
Experience in Kenya or East African online retail market.
Familiarity with local e-commerce logistics, payment methods (e.g., M-Pesa) and consumer behavior.
Experience managing teams or external vendors/agencies.
Understanding of UX/UI principles and customer experience optimization.
Experience with CRM systems, automation tools or loyalty program management.
