Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Import and Licence Manager to oversee all import activities, licensing requirements, and customs clearance processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clearing and forwarding, a deep understanding of international trade regulations, and proven expertise in managing import documentation and compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end import operations including documentation, shipment tracking, customs clearance, and delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant import laws, trade regulations, and licensing requirements.
  • Coordinate with clearing and forwarding agents, customs officials, shipping lines, and transporters.
  • Obtain and renew import permits, licenses, and other regulatory approvals as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of all imports, licenses, tariffs, and duty payments.
  • Liaise with internal departments (procurement, finance, warehouse) to ensure smooth and timely import flows.
  • Resolve issues related to shipment delays, documentation discrepancies, and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor changes in trade laws and regulations and update internal policies accordingly.
  • Develop and implement cost-effective strategies for freight, duties, and other import-related expenses.
  • Prepare periodic reports on import activity, cost analysis, and vendor performance.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, International Trade, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in import management and clearing and forwarding.
  • In-depth knowledge of customs procedures, tariff classifications, HS codes, and import regulations.
  • Strong understanding of international shipping documentation (B/L, invoices, packing lists, COs, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics or ERP systems.
