Key Responsibilities:
1. Government Relations & Policy Engagement
• Simplify relevant government policy documents and disseminate to local government, grassroots institutions, and local organizations
• Write policy briefs and disseminate to relevant government departments and local institutions.
• Attend meetings on government policy at the national and local levels.
2. Partnerships Development
• Identify and forge partnerships and relationships between GRiC, donors and stakeholders with shared goals and interests.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and cross-learning opportunities between GRiC, government, local institutions, and stakeholders.
• Take a lead role in developing packages for knowledge sharing and dissemination to various stakeholders.
• Organize and attend meetings with governments, donors and stakeholders .
3. Linking Policy and Practice
• Aligning GRiC’s programs with relevant government policy.
• Advise GRiC and partner organizations on strategies and opportunities to engage, influence and implement relevant government policy.
• Coordinate policy forums at the county government and local levels to enhance understanding and implementation of government policy.
• Write policy briefs to facilitate engagements between GRiC, partner organizations and the government on relevant policies.
• Link local institutions with government agencies to elevate voices from the grassroots on government policy engagements, influence and implementation.
• Strengthen the capacity of GRiC and partner organization on policy analysis, influence and dissemination.
4. Fundraising Strategy and Donor Engagement
• Monitor the fundraising landscape and advise the organization on potential funding opportunities.
• Support proposal development and strategic alignment with donor agendas.
• Ensure donor compliance and timely dissemination of donor reports and proposals.
5. Sector Networking and Influence
• Participate in sector networks and coalitions to position the GRiC as a thought leader in education for children and youth, girls’ education and women’s empowerment.
Candidates profile
• Master’s degree in public policy, International Relations, Development Studies, or related field .
• Proven experience working with government agencies, civil society organizations, and donor institutions.
• Good writing, training, coaching and mentorship skills.
• Excellent planning, analytical, networking, writing and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills.
