Job Summary
Our Client, a multinational FMCG retail brand with an extensive footprint across Kenya, is hiring a Stores Operations Manager to lead and grow its retail and franchise business. The ideal Candidate will be responsible for initiating, coordinating, and enforcing retail operations policies and procedures; this includes driving sales planning, cost control, shrinkage reduction, audit compliance, and people management. He/She will ensure smooth flow of retail operations by delegating responsibilities to the store management team while maintaining a high level of customer awareness and product knowledge to drive sales conversion and turnover.

Job Description/Requirements
- Oversee daily operations across retail and franchise stores to ensure efficiency and profitability.
- Prepare, in co-operation with the District Managers and Retail Statistician, seasonal and weekly estimates for all stores.
- Be constantly cognizant of the Kenya market trends & growth, competition etc., and anticipate competitor’s plans, activities and interests and advise appropriate counter actions.
- Ensure efficient stock management to avoid old stocks through the application of FIFO rule, stock-re-grouping and transfers in all stores.
- Develop and execute seasonal budgets, sales plans, and profitability analysis.
- Identify retail expansion opportunities and ensure timely store remodeling.
- Recruit and train sales personnel in coordination with HR and develop them to deliver excellence in customer service.
- Co-ordinate, in conjunction with the Merchandising Manager and Advertising Manager, advertising and sales promotion actions.
- Check and ensure that the set price policy and established discount policies are strictly adhered to.
- Coordinate with merchandising to ensure timely receiving, checking, and distribution of orders from bond and the factory, to meet customer requirements on time.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management (Master’s degree will be an added advantage).
- Certification in Retail Management and/or Sales & Marketing preferred.
- At least 10 years’ work experience, with 5+ years in a fast-paced retail set-up in a similar role.
- Strong operational discipline and analytical skills.
- Excellent leadership, team development, and people management skills.
- Proven ability in negotiation, planning, and project management.
- Effective collaboration, communication, and social influence skills.
