Mukuru Promotion Centre (MPC) is a faith-based charitable organization founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1985. Located in Mukuru, Nairobi, MPC empowers vulnerable communities through education, health, welfare, and social rehabilitation programmes.

About Our Lady of Mercy Vocational Training Centre (OLMVTC)

OLMVTC is one of the programmes under MPC that equips vulnerable youth from Mukuru and surrounding communities with employable vocational skills. The Centre offers training in Catering and Accommodation, Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy, Dressmaking, Computer Studies, Art and Craft, Welding and Fabrication, Plumbing and Masonry, and DJ Studies.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Catering and Accommodation Trainer to join our team.

Qualifications and Experience

· Diploma in Catering and Accommodation Operations or a related field.

· Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Education, Business Administration, or a related field will be an added advantage.

· Pedagogy training from the Kenya School of TVET.

· Valid TVETA Trainer Registration Number.

· At least four (4) years' relevant experience, preferably in a TVET institution.

· Strong practical knowledge of Catering and Accommodation Operations.

·  Strong Culinary skills ,service technology

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Good planning, organizational, and report-writing skills.

· Ability to work with learners from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds.

· High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

· Deliver theory and practical training in Catering and Accommodation.

· Prepare lesson plans, training materials, and assessments.

· Assess and monitor student performance and provide feedback.

· Mentor and support students in their academic and personal development.

· Ensure compliance with TVETA and other training standards.

· Participate in curriculum development and quality improvement initiatives.

· Perform any other duties assigned by management.
