Role Overview
We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and highly motivated Junior Graphic Designer with 1–2 years of experience in digital and print design. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for aesthetics, a solid foundation in brand design, and the ability to translate ideas into visually compelling concepts across multiple media platforms. They thrive in a collaborative agency environment, are eager to grow professionally, and can execute high-quality designs that align with client objectives and brand standards.
This candidate is passionate about modern design trends, comfortable working on fast-paced campaigns, and able to support senior creatives in delivering impactful visual solutions for diverse markets across Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute creative design concepts for digital campaigns, print materials, branding, and marketing collateral.
- Create social media graphics, web banners, email templates, and digital assets optimized for various platforms.
- Support brand development by maintaining visual consistency across all client and internal projects.
- Participate in creative brainstorming sessions and contribute design ideas for campaigns and pitches.
- Prepare accurate, print-ready and digital-ready files and liaise with vendors to ensure high-quality production.
- Collaborate with senior designers, copywriters, account teams, and multimedia teams to execute integrated campaigns.
- Assist in creating simple motion graphics and visual elements for video content.
- Conduct visual research and stay updated on design trends across African and global markets.
- Manage and organize design files, templates, and project folders for efficient workflow.
- Provide design support for internal branding, pitches, presentations, and agency projects.
Requirements
Education & Qualifications
- A strong portfolio showcasing creativity, versatility, and technical skill across different formats.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or related field.
Key Competencies
- 1–2 years of experience in graphic design, preferably in an advertising agency or creative studio.
- Hands-on experience with both digital and print projects.
- Strong creative design skills with excellent understanding of typography, layout, color theory, and composition.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); familiarity with Figma and Canva.
- Basic knowledge of motion graphics and video editing tools (After Effects, Premiere Pro) is an added advantage.
- Ability to create high-quality visuals for social media, digital platforms, print materials, and branding assets.
- Strong understanding of file formats, print specifications, and digital-ready design requirements (CMYK vs RGB).
- Collaborative mindset with strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Receptive to feedback, adaptable to revisions, and committed to continuous improvement.
