ABOUT THE COMPANY

In 2015 Coop Denmark decided to build a coffee roasting facility in Kenya. The idea was to shorten the supply chain from coffee suppliers to coffee consumers. In January 2016, African Coffee Roasters EPZ Limited was born. It was decided that the roasting facility should reside in Athi River, 40 kilometers outside of Nairobi.
Establishing the facility was no easy feat. First of all, we had to get all of our licenses in order before we were able to operate legally as a business. We also had to renovate our new office and factory buildings. The factory building then had to be fitted with state of the art machines before we were ready for production.
In the beginning of August we had our first day of production. This led to the shipment of our first container on the 2nd of September. The coffee has now been on Coop Danmark’s shelves since October 2016 and we have begun working on expanding our client base.
