Job summary
The Store Keeper will be responsible for the efficient management and control of the hotel's stores and inventory. The role will ensure that stock is properly received, recorded, stored, issued, and monitored to maintain adequate supplies while minimizing wastage, losses, and stock discrepancies

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Stock Management & Control
· Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices.
· Ensure all received items meet the required quantity, quality, and specifications.
· Properly store and arrange stock to ensure easy identification and accessibility.
· Issue stock to authorized departments based on approved requisitions.
· Maintain accurate records of all stock received, issued, transferred, and returned.
· Monitor stock levels and identify items that require replenishment.
· Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile physical stock against system records.
· Investigate and report stock variances, losses, damages, or discrepancies.
· Implement appropriate stock rotation practices, particularly for perishable and date-sensitive items.
· Monitor expiry dates and ensure proper handling of slow-moving or obsolete stock.
Hotel Stores Operations
· Maintain organized stores for food, beverages, housekeeping supplies, maintenance items, stationery, and other hotel requirements.
· Ensure stores are clean, secure, properly labelled, and maintained in good condition.
· Ensure appropriate storage conditions are maintained for different categories of stock.
· Coordinate with procurement and relevant departments to ensure timely availability of required supplies.
· Monitor stock usage and highlight unusual consumption patterns to management.
Inventory Systems & Documentation
· Maintain accurate inventory records using the hotel's inventory management system.
· Update stock records promptly after every receipt or issue.
· Prepare stock reports and inventory summaries as required.
· Maintain proper filing of delivery notes, requisitions, invoices, stock sheets, and other relevant documents.
· Assist with periodic and month-end stocktaking exercises.
· Ensure all store transactions are properly authorized and documented.
Compliance & Security
· Ensure proper controls are in place to prevent unauthorized access to stores.
· Safeguard company stock and report any suspected loss, theft, or misuse immediately.
· Follow established hotel procedures relating to purchasing, receiving, storage, and stock issuance.
· Comply with health, safety, hygiene, and food-storage requirements where applicable.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
· Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Stores Management, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field
· Minimum 2 years' experience in storekeeping, inventory management, or a similar role, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment
· Proficiency in inventory management software and basic office applications
· Good knowledge of stock control, receiving, issuing, stocktaking, and record-keeping
· Experience handling multiple categories of hotel supplies will be an added advantage
