- Collaborate with the design and sales teams to interpret client briefs and project requirements.
- Assist in conceptualizing and developing furniture and interior design solutions.
- Generate design concepts through CAD software, 3D modelling tools, and hand sketches where necessary.
- Prepare mood boards, material selections, and visual presentations to support project proposals.
- Produce detailed furniture production drawings using Archicad, SketchUp, or other CAD software.
- Prepare technical specifications, dimensions, material schedules, and production documentation.
- Ensure drawings comply with company standards and manufacturing requirements.
- Update and revise drawings based on client feedback and project changes.
- Liaise with the production team to ensure accurate interpretation and implementation of approved designs.
- Participate in design reviews and assist in resolving technical issues during production.
- Conduct periodic quality checks to ensure finished products align with approved specifications and drawings.
- Support project coordination from design development through final production.
- Review drawings and design outputs for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential design or production challenges.
- Assist in maintaining quality standards across all furniture and fit-out projects.
- Maintain a strong understanding of products within the company catalogue.
- Research industry trends, materials, finishes, and emerging design innovations.
- Recommend design improvements that enhance functionality, aesthetics, and customer satisfaction.
- Organize and maintain design files, project records, and drawing archives.
- Attend team meetings and provide updates on assigned tasks and projects.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Lead Designer or Management.
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Furniture Design, Architecture, Product Design, or a related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a woodworking workshop, furniture manufacturing environment, fit-out company, timber production facility, or related industry.
- Experience preparing technical furniture drawings is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
- Knowledge of Archicad is an added advantage.
