Our client, a reputable 3-star hotel located in the heart of Mogadishu, Somalia, committed to providing exceptional hospitality and service excellence, seeks to recruit a Front office Receptionist.
Job Summary: The Front Office Receptionist will be responsible for welcoming guests, managing check-ins and check-outs, handling reservations, and providing efficient communication and coordination across departments.
The ideal candidate is professional, well-groomed, and passionate about delivering an outstanding guest experience.
Key Accountabilities
- Guest Reception & Service
- Warmly welcome guests upon arrival and ensure smooth check-in and check-out procedures.
- Provide clear and helpful information about hotel services, amenities, and local attractions.
- Address guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally to ensure a positive guest experience.
- Reservations & Front Desk Administration
- Manage room reservations through the hotel’s booking system / PMS.
- Confirm bookings, process changes or cancellations, and allocate rooms efficiently.
- Maintain accurate guest records and ensure confidentiality of guest information.
- Communication & Coordination
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and messages in a courteous and professional manner.
- Liaise with housekeeping, F&B, and other departments to ensure guest needs are met.
- Coordinate with security regarding VIP arrivals, late check-ins, and special guest requests.
- Cashiering & Billing
- Process payments (cash, card, or company account billing).
- Prepare invoices, reconcile receipts, and maintain accurate financial records at the front office.
- Ensure correct billing for room charges, services, and incidentals.
- Customer Care & Hospitality Standards
- Resolve guest complaints tactfully and escalate matters when necessary.
- Maintain a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor at all times.
- Uphold grooming standards and represent the hotel brand positively.
Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Hospitality, Front Office Operations, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar front office or guest service role in a hotel.
- Proficiency in English and Swahili; Arabic is an added advantage.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Smart, presentable appearance with a professional and welcoming attitude.
- Experience in hotel PMS / reservation systems is an added advantage.
