Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable, responsible, and professional Goods Delivery Driver to transport goods safely and efficiently to customers, retail outlets, warehouses, and business locations.
The ideal candidate should have excellent driving skills, good time management, a strong understanding of road safety, and a professional approach to handling company vehicles, goods, and customers.
The successful candidate must demonstrate safe, disciplined, and responsible driving habits, with a proven record of handling deliveries professionally and adhering to company and road safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
· Safely deliver goods to customers, retail outlets, and warehouses following assigned routes.
· Load and unload goods, ensuring correct handling to prevent damage.
· Verify delivery details, including the quantity and condition of items.
· Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain customer signatures or other proof of delivery.
· Reconcile the remaining stock at the point of loading to ensure accurate stock records are maintained.
· Ensure all goods loaded onto the vehicle correspond with the delivery documentation.
· Inspect the delivery vehicle regularly to ensure it is in good working condition.
· Report any mechanical issues, accidents, damages, or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
· Follow all traffic rules, road safety regulations, and company policies.
· Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
· Communicate with the office through WhatsApp and other approved communication channels as required.
· Keep the delivery vehicle clean, secure, and well-maintained.
· Safeguard company goods and ensure they are delivered in the same condition as received.
· Complete delivery routes and assignments within the required timelines.
· Make upcountry deliveries when required.
· Assist with loading and unloading goods safely when necessary.
· Maintain professionalism and appropriate conduct when interacting with customers, suppliers, and members of the public.
Qualifications & Skills
· Valid Driving Licence, appropriate for the vehicle being driven.
· Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
· Proven experience as a goods delivery driver, distribution driver, or in a similar role.
· Good knowledge of Nairobi routes, traffic patterns, and major delivery locations.
· Ability to use Google Maps and other navigation tools effectively.
· Good understanding of road safety and defensive driving practices.
· Ability to use WhatsApp for communication with the office as required.
· Ability to lift, carry, and handle goods safely.
· Strong time-management and organizational skills.
· Reliable, punctual, and committed to meeting delivery deadlines.
· Good communication and customer-service skills.
· Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
· Flexibility to work extended or irregular hours when required.
· Willingness and ability to undertake upcountry deliveries when required.
· Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to identify common vehicle problems is an added advantage.
· Demonstrated ability to drive carefully, responsibly, and professionally.
Driving Experience Preference
The successful candidate should have a strong track record of safe and professional driving, particularly in goods delivery, logistics, distribution, or corporate/commercial driving environments.
