We are expanding our team of experienced construction professionals to support a growing pipeline of infrastructure projects.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Site Engineer with a proven background in road construction projects.
This is a project-based consulting role, where you will be engaged for specific projects as they are awarded.
Road construction experience is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise road construction projects from mobilisation to completion.
- Plan, coordinate and monitor all site activities.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
- Supervise engineers, foremen, surveyors, operators and subcontractors.
- Coordinate labour, plant, equipment and materials.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly project reports.
- Monitor project progress against programme and milestones.
- Ensure compliance with specifications, drawings and contract requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants and Government representatives.
- Manage quality assurance, inspections and testing.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Review and approve site measurements and completed works.
- Manage project documentation using the MMT Alliance project management system.
- Support commercial matters including variations, extensions of time and progress claims.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Proven experience managing road construction projects.
- Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of road construction methodologies and specifications.
- Experience managing Government-funded infrastructure projects.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary construction teams.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Excellent reporting and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Ability to work on project sites across Kenya.
Highly Desirable
- Experience on World Bank, Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA), Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) or County Government road projects.
- Registration with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) or relevant professional body.
- Knowledge of FIDIC or Government construction contracts.
- Experience using Zoho Projects or similar project management systems.
