This is a full-time operational position for individuals seeking to build practical experience and develop a career in microfinance and financial services.
Job Purpose
The Collection Officer Intern will be responsible for following up customer repayments, managing assigned collection pipelines, engaging customers with outstanding obligations, and supporting the achievement of the Company's collection targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow up customers with outstanding loan repayments through calls, messages, and field visits.
- Manage assigned collection pipelines and prioritize accounts based on repayment status and risk.
- Make timely repayment reminders and secure realistic Promises to Pay (PTPs) from customers.
- Monitor PTPs and repayment commitments and follow up until payment is received.
- Identify customers showing early signs of default and escalate high-risk accounts to the relevant supervisor.
- Update daily collection records, customer commitments, and repayment outcomes accurately in the Company's systems.
- Work closely with Loan Officers and other teams to resolve repayment issues and improve portfolio performance.
- Achieve assigned daily and monthly collection targets.
Minimum Requirements
- KCSE Certificate.
- Diploma or Degree in any relevant field.
- Valid National ID.
- Computer competency.
- Strong interest in collections, customer service, and financial services.
- Previous experience in microfinance is an added advantage.
- Applicants should be 30 years of age or below.
