The Finance Manager is responsible for leading the financial strategy, planning, and management of the company’s operations. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and optimal use of financial systems. The ideal candidate has a strong background in SAP, extensive experience in the cement industry, and proven leadership skills to drive financial performance and support strategic decision-making.
2. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- Provide strategic financial leadership to support business growth.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Optimize financial systems and processes, with emphasis on SAP utilization.
- Deliver accurate financial insights to guide executive decision-making.
3. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee financial operations including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Lead financial audits and ensure adherence to corporate financial controls.
- Monitor financial transactions to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
B. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts aligned with business objectives.
- Analyze financial data to provide insights that improve operational efficiency and profitability.
- Implement cost control measures to optimize financial performance.
C. Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, accounting standards, and company policies.
- Manage internal and external audits, coordinating with auditors for financial reviews.
- Maintain proper documentation for tax filings, audits, and financial statements.
D. Team Leadership & Process Improvement
- Supervise and mentor finance staff, including training and performance evaluations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process automation and SAP system optimization.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence within the finance team.
E. Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication
- Partner with senior management to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with operational departments to align financial strategies with business goals.
- Provide financial insights and reports to support executive leadership.
4. QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related discipline is an added advantage.
- CPA-K, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- 10 years’ experience in finance management, with significant exposure to the cement industry.
- Strong SAP expertise with proven ability to leverage ERP systems for financial efficiency.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of delivering results.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in other financial systems.
- High attention to detail, organizational skills, and adaptability to changing priorities.
