KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute the organization’s investment strategy in line with overall business objectives.
- Identify, evaluate and secure viable investment opportunities across sectors and asset classes.
- Conduct market research, economic analysis and industry assessments to inform investment decisions.
- Prepare investment proposals, feasibility studies, financial models and business cases.
- Lead the management and optimization of the organization’s investment portfolio.
- Monitor portfolio performance, market trends, risks and opportunities, recommending adjustments where necessary.
- Lead financial analysis, valuation and due diligence for prospective investments, acquisitions and strategic transactions.
- Assess financial statements, business models and investment risks to support sound investment decisions.
- Prepare and present investment reports, performance updates and strategic recommendations to management and key stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, financial institutions and strategic partners.
- Support fundraising, capital mobilization and investor engagement initiatives.
- Represent the organization at investment forums, industry events and stakeholder meetings.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, corporate governance standards and internal investment policies.
- Develop and implement effective investment risk management frameworks.
- Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Sales and Operations teams on investment-related transactions and initiatives.
- Lead, mentor and develop the investment team, setting clear performance targets and fostering a high-performance culture.
- Monitor departmental KPIs and continuously improve investment processes and outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Investment Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- A Master’s degree and/or professional qualification such as CFA Level II, CPA, ACCA, CISI or equivalent is an added advantage.
- 5–8 years’ progressive experience in investment management, corporate finance, financial analysis or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in investment portfolio management and investment transactions.
- Proven experience leading and managing investment teams.
- Strong knowledge of financial markets, investment analysis, valuation methodologies and risk management principles.
- Experience in developing financial models, conducting due diligence and evaluating investment opportunities.
