Restaurant Accountant
Our client a fast growing chomazone located at Ruiru is seeking to employ an accountant with relevant work experience.
Specific Duties
- Responsible for maintaining precise and organized financial records by recording and categorize financial transactions, including income, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
- To prepare various financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Collaborate with management to develop, manage and control budgets for the bar or restaurant by forecasting revenue, expenses, and cash flow, analyze variances, and provide recommendations for adjustments to support strategic planning.
- Develop strategies for costs savings initiatives and continued business financial success, identifying areas for cost savings and waste reduction by keeping track of all payments to suppliers and other creditors in addition to expenditures.
- Analyze potential suppliers and keeping a good record of the same while ensuring proper contracts are in place with suppliers as necessary.
- Incharge of management of stock through daily and other regular stock taking activities and support the purchasing process of all supplies as requested by various units.
- Responsible for raising LPOs, receiving quotations and all deliveries, issuing invoices to customers and tracking accounts receivable.
- Incharge of timely reconciliation of accounts and maintaining accurate records to support a healthy business environment and relationship.
- Processing employee payroll and paying employees’ salaries while ensuring that all statutory payments and monthly subscriptions are paid before the deadline including housing lev VAT, PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, Catering levy.
- Ensure timely submissions of all monthly and annual tax return and statutory deductions in compliance with legal requirements.
- Negotiating favourable prices and credit terms with suppliers and settling suppliers’ dues by scheduling payment cheques and making sure that payments are received.
- Collaborating with the external auditors throughout the auditing process in producing all the needed documents and information.
- Providing financial insights to management for informed decision-making.
Requirement
- At least bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with full CPA-K qualification with at least 3 years similar work experience.

- Robust critical thinking and decision Making skills
- Proficiency in accounting packages and ERPs
- Excellent business acumen and industry awareness

- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Proactive, highly motivated and flexible
Compensation
A guiding compensation of Kes 45,000.00 will be offered to the suitable candidate
