ABOUT THE COMPANY
Kenya Tea Development Agency Limited was incorporated on 15th June 2000 as a private company under (CAP 486) of the laws of Kenya, becoming one of the largest private tea management agencies. The Agency currently manages 67 factories in the small-scale tea sub-sector in Kenya.
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Group Finance Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading KTDAs, group data strategy, governance, and analytics functions and ensuring that data is collected, stored, managed, and analyzed effectively to support evidence-based decision-making, operational efficiency, and strategic growth across KTDA and its subsidiaries.Qualifications/Skills/ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics, or related fieldMaster’s degree in data science and related field an added advantageProfessional certifications in Data Analytics, Big Data, BI Tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, R) are an added advantageMinimum 10 year’s progressive experience in data management/analytics, with at least 5 years at senior management levelProven track record in data governance, analytics, and business intelligence in a complex organizationStrong technical expertise in data analysis, data warehousing, and predictive modelingExcellent understanding of data governance, privacy, and compliance frameworksAbility to transform complex datasets into simple, actionable insightsStrong leadership, project management, and communication skillsIntegrity, analytical thinking, and commitment to KTDA’s farmer-first philosophy
RESPONSIBILITIES
Developing and implementing KTDA’s data management and analytics strategy in alignment with corporate objectivesEstablishing data governance frameworks, standards, and policies to ensure data quality, accuracy, integrity, and securityOverseeing compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements in data managementLeading advanced data analytics, modeling, and forecasting to support business planning and operational decisionsProviding actionable insights on production, supply chain, market trends, farmer engagement, and financial performanceChampioning the adoption of modern data analytics tools and business intelligence platformsDriving digital transformation initiatives, including data automation, big data, and AI-enabled decision-makingEnsuring integration of data systems across subsidiaries to provide a single source of truthTracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and providing reports to senior leadership and the BoardConducting scenario analysis, trend monitoring, and risk modeling to guide strategic planningSupporting continuous improvement by using data to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunitiesBuilding and leading a high-performing team of data analysts, scientists, and information managersEngaging with external stakeholders (regulators, partners, and researchers) to benchmark KTDA against industry best practices
