Job summary
The Imports/Exports Specialist is responsible for managing clearing and forwarding (C&F) operations while serving as the primary point of contact for key clients.

- Serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
- Understand client needs and provide customized logistics solutions.
- Conduct regular client engagements and participate in quarterly business reviews.
- Manage end-to-end import and export processes, including shipment tracking and delivery.
- Coordinate with shipping agents, port authorities, and internal teams to ensure timely cargo clearance and delivery.
- Oversee cargo offloading, container returns, and deposit recovery processes.
- Update port clerks on incoming shipments and share required documentation promptly.
- Prepare and submit accurate import/export documentation and customs declarations.
- Ensure compliance with local and international trade regulations and safety standards.
- Maintain proper records and ensure timely issuance of shipping documents.
- Identify opportunities to optimize clearing and forwarding operations and reduce costs.
- Engage clients on competitive shipping solutions while maintaining profitability.
- Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell additional services.
- Ensure accurate cost capture and support timely billing and collections.
- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and client reports as required.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes and advise stakeholders accordingly.
- Support team coordination and foster a high-performance work environment.
- Conduct training sessions to enhance team capability and productivity.
- Participate in onboarding and induction of new employees.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in freight forwarding, shipping, or logistics.
- Strong understanding of import/export procedures, air and sea freight operations.
- Proficiency in preparing shipping and customs documentation.
- Excellent communication and client management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
