Job Summary

Our client is seeking to recruit a highly skilled, proactive, and results-driven Electrical Engineer to join their technical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of electrical systems, machinery, and equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in electrical engineering, hands-on problem-solving abilities, and experience working in industrial or manufacturing environments. Knowledge of mechanical engineering systems and pneumatic systems will be a distinct advantage. The candidate should be a self-motivated professional capable of working independently, managing multiple tasks, and responding effectively to operational challenges.


Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, inspect, and repair electrical systems, machinery, and equipment.

• Diagnose electrical faults and implement effective corrective actions to minimize downtime.

• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical installations and production equipment.

• Ensure all electrical systems comply with safety regulations, engineering standards, and statutory requirements.

• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

• Support commissioning, testing, and optimization of new equipment and machinery.

• Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.

• Collaborate with mechanical and production teams to resolve technical issues.

• Assist in planning and executing engineering projects and upgrades.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and technical documentation.

• Ensure adherence to workplace health and safety standards.

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing operational efficiency and reducing costs.


Qualifications & Education Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution; OR

• Diploma/Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized Technical Training Institution such as:

• National Youth Service (NYS)

• Kabete National Polytechnic

• Kenya Technical Trainers College (KTTC)

• Technical University of Kenya (TUK)

• Or any other recognized technical institution.

• Registration or licensing with the relevant Engineers Board or professional engineering body will be an added advantage.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in electrical engineering, industrial maintenance, manufacturing, production, or related fields.

• Proven experience in troubleshooting electrical systems and industrial equipment.

• Experience working with electrical control systems, motors, drives, panels, and automation systems.

• Exposure to manufacturing or industrial environments is highly desirable.


Added Advantage

• Basic knowledge of Mechanical Engineering systems.

• Experience working with Pneumatic Systems and Controls.

• Familiarity with industrial automation, PLC systems, and instrumentation.

• Understanding of preventive maintenance programs and asset management practices.

• Strong electrical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.

• Excellent understanding of electrical installations and industrial machinery.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering-related software.
