JOB SUMMARY
The job holder will have full scope financial and operational audit responsibilities from planning, budgeting, resource allocation, risk assessments, value-for-money reviews, audit and review of working procedures, report writing, and audit follow-up. Compliance reviews, investigations, assurance, and risk management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Objectively review an organization's business processesObtain, analyse, and evaluate accounting processes, documentation & data.Reconcile documentation with actual inventory or assets to ascertain accuracyPerform and control the full audit cycle including risk management and control management over operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations.Challenge current processes across the company and identify opportunities for refinement.Evaluate the efficacy of risk management procedures that are currently in place.Assess best financial practices for an organisation and make relevant, informed suggestions.Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings. Make recommendations on how to improve internal controls and governance processes.Prepare and present reports that reflect audit’s results and document process.Ensure that the organization is complying with relevant laws and statutesProtect against fraud and theft of the organization's assets.Support the development of an assurance planning reporting processAct as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality and goal achievement.Maintain open communication with management and audit committeeEngage in remediation of identified issues through follow-upsConduct follow-up audits to monitor management’s interventionsEngage in continuous knowledge development regarding sector’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards.
