Job summary
Electrical Engineer is responsible for providing strategic leadership and technical oversight of all electrical engineering functions within the company. The role oversees the design, installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and project management of electrical systems, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with statutory regulations, engineering standards, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the Electrical Engineering Department, providing technical guidance and supervision to engineering teams.
• Oversee the design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems for construction projects.
• Review and approve electrical designs, technical specifications, material schedules, and project documentation.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor electrical engineering activities to ensure timely and quality project delivery.
• Manage project budgets, resource allocation, procurement, and contractor performance.
• Ensure compliance with electrical engineering standards, health and safety regulations, and quality management systems.
• Support tender preparation, project costing, estimating, and contract administration.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks while implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities on electrical engineering matters.
• Prepare technical and project performance reports for management.
Core Technical Knowledge
• Electrical power distribution and power supply systems.
• Electrical installation design and implementation.
• Control, instrumentation, and automation systems.
• Electrical testing, commissioning, and maintenance.
• AutoCAD and other electrical engineering software.
• Project management, budgeting, and contract administration.
• Occupational health and safety requirements and quality management systems.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Registered Professional Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
• Valid Annual Practising Licence where applicable.
• Minimum of 7 years' relevant experience in electrical engineering within the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
