ELECTRICIAN – CRUSHER OPERATIONS (Mai Mahiu)
Job summary
Our client a leading quarry and engineering operations company is seeking to recruit a competent, experienced and hands-on Electrician to support the reliable operation and maintenance of its crushing plant.
Job descriptions & requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out preventive and corrective electrical maintenance on crusher plant equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults affecting crushers, conveyors, motors, control panels and associated equipment.
- Conduct routine electrical inspections and identify potential faults before they result in breakdowns.
- Carry out planned maintenance, servicing and repairs of electrical systems and equipment.
- Assist with electrical installation, testing and commissioning of plant equipment.
- Monitor the performance of electrical equipment and promptly report faults and maintenance requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance, repairs and breakdowns.
- Work closely with the Engineering and Production teams to minimise electrical downtime.
- Provide technical support during plant breakdowns and emergency repairs.
- Ensure all electrical work is undertaken safely and in accordance with company procedures and applicable electrical and workplace safety standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce recurring electrical faults.
🎓 QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Relevant hands-on experience in industrial electrical maintenance, preferably within a quarrying, manufacturing, construction or heavy industrial environment.
- Previous experience working with crusher plants, conveyors and crushing operations is highly desirable.
- Good knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, control panels, starters, sensors and electrical fault-finding.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve electrical problems efficiently.
- Strong understanding and commitment to Health & Safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently, under pressure and as part of a technical team.
- Willingness to work in a demanding industrial environment and respond to equipment breakdowns when required.
