- Support fleet budgeting, forecasting, planning, acquisition, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Coordinate and schedule preventive maintenance and repairs with approved service providers.
- Oversee repairs and servicing of vehicles and motorcycles to ensure fleet reliability, safety, and availability.
- Ensure all fleet assets comply with company policies and traffic regulations.
- Monitor fuel, spare parts, and consumable usage, identifying cost-saving opportunities and maintaining accurate records.
- Ensure vehicles are maintained in a clean and presentable condition to uphold the company image.
- Verify completion of daily vehicle inspection checklists by drivers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date fleet records, including vehicle registration and ownership documentation.
- Coordinate insurance renewals and ensure all statutory licenses, inspections, permits, and stickers are renewed on time.
- Ensure compliance with NTSA regulations and other legal requirements governing commercial vehicles.
- Manage accident and incident reporting, investigations, insurance claims, and record keeping.
- Maintain secure custody of fleet keys and related assets.
- Ensure all drivers and riders possess valid driving licences and required PPE.
- Monitor fleet performance through telematics systems and address misuse or unsafe practices.
- Coordinate driver and rider training programmes in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Contribute to the review and improvement of fleet policies and procedures.
- Facilitate issuance and management of fuel cards.
- Prepare and present periodic fleet performance reports, including fuel consumption, maintenance costs, utilization, and compliance metrics.
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Fleet Management, Transport and Logistics, or a related field.
- Training in Automotive Service Technology, Fleet Management, or Transport Logistics will be an added advantage.
- At least three (3) years experience managing a fleet of vehicles and motorcycles.
- Sound knowledge of vehicle mechanics and fleet maintenance practices.
- Knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements relating to fleet operations in Kenya.
- Experience with telematics and fleet management systems is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Strong planning, organizational, and multitasking skills.
