Job descriptions & requirements

Nairobi, Kenya · Full-time · Senior Management · Ref TF-HOF-01

Grow a network of street-level food entrepreneurs
Tayba Farms Limited owns and operates Kuku Box — turnkey mobile chicken stalls placed with independent operators at Nairobi’s busiest commuter nodes: matatu stages, transit interchanges, market edges, and estate high streets. Every stall we place is a small business owner earning a living and a node on a growing network.

We are hiring a Head of Franchise to own that growth end to end. You will build the pipeline that finds qualified operators, run the process that vets and signs them, secure the sites they trade from, and lead the team that does it at volume. This is a commercial leadership role with a number attached, reporting to the Managing Director.

What you will own
The growth number. Set and hit monthly franchisee onboarding targets, and own the funnel maths that gets you there — lead volume, qualification rate, conversion, and cost per placement.
The acquisition engine. Design and run recruitment campaigns across referral, field canvassing, digital, SACCO and chama networks, and partner channels. Decide where the good operators actually come from and put budget behind it.
The pipeline. Own the funnel from first enquiry through vetting, discovery day, financial screening, contract execution, and deposit collection. Keep it clean, keep it in the CRM, and forecast it accurately.
The map. Direct urban site scouting and secure high-footfall pitches. Build the relationships — county officials, landlords, stage chairmen, property managers — that turn a good location into a trading one.
Franchisee success. Act as the operators’ advocate inside the business. Protect unit economics, drive compliance, and keep churn low. A franchisee who fails is a placement we have to make twice.
The team. Recruit, coach, and hold accountable a team of Franchise Recruitment Officers and Field Specialists. Run the weekly pipeline discipline that makes targets predictable rather than lucky.

What you need
ESSENTIAL
  • 5+ years in franchise development, agent network recruitment (agency banking, mobile money, or fintech distribution), commercial real estate leasing, or high-volume B2B sales — earned in the Kenyan market.
  • A verifiable record of hitting aggressive commercial targets, with numbers you can walk us through.
  • Experience leading and coaching a field sales or recruitment team.
  • Confident contract negotiation and the judgement to know when to walk away from a bad candidate.
  • Genuine working knowledge of street-level commercial dynamics in Nairobi — how stages work, who controls pitches, what a county licence actually takes.
  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Real Estate, or a related field.
  • Fluent English and Kiswahili.
ADVANTAGEOUS
  • QSR, FMCG distribution, poultry, or food service background.
  • Existing relationships with county licensing offices or property and landlord networks.
  • Experience with micro-finance or SACCO lending structures, which many of our operators will use to fund their entry.
  • Hands-on CRM ownership (HubSpot, Zoho, Pipedrive, or similar).
What we offer
  • Competitive senior management base, plus a placement-linked commission and an annual performance bonus.
  • Medical cover, airtime and transport allowance, and statutory benefits under the Employment Act 2007.
  • Direct line to the Managing Director and real authority over strategy, budget, and team.
  • The chance to build a network from a small base rather than administer someone else’s.

How to apply
Send your CV and a short cover note with the subject line TFHOF-01 Head of Franchise. In your note, tell us the largest network or territory you have grown, the numbers you delivered, and how you did it.

We review on a rolling basis and will contact shortlisted candidates only.

Tayba Farms Limited is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, or background. We never charge candidates a fee at any stage of recruitment.
