MOMBASA
Our client in the highly competitive tyre industry is seeking to recruit an experienced and technically competent professional to head its Technical Department. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in tyre technology, fleet tyre management, after-sales support, and customer relationship management within a demanding business environment.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for establishing and leading the company's after-sales technical support and fleet tyre management function. You will play a key role in strengthening customer confidence, improving tyre performance, supporting business growth, and delivering technical solutions that enhance customer retention.

Key Responsibilities
 Establish and lead the after-sales technical support function for customers.
 Conduct tyre performance analysis, including mileage, wear patterns, and operating conditions.
 Develop and oversee fleet tyre management programme for key customers.
 Train customers and internal sales teams on tyre performance, maintenance, and best practices.
 Conduct tyre claims investigations and defect analysis in liaison with suppliers and manufacturers.
 Work closely with Production to improve retread quality through technical feedback.
 Support the Sales team through technical audits and customer presentations to secure major fleet accounts.
 Prepare technical reports and performance analyses to support decision-making.
 Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the technical support function.

Key Qualifications and Competencies
 Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field.
 At least five (5) years technical experience in truck tyres, retread operations, fleet management, automotive after-sales services, or related industries.
 Hands-on experience working with a retread facility will be an added advantage.
 Exposure to tyre performance analysis and tyre management systems.
 Strong analytical, problem-solving, and customer relationship management skills.
 Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage customers and technical teams.
