LOAN OFFICER INTERN

This is a full-time operational position for individuals seeking to build practical experience and develop a career in microfinance and financial services.

Job Purpose

The Loan Officer Intern will be responsible for identifying and onboarding eligible customers, assessing their businesses and repayment capacity, supporting loan processing and disbursement, and maintaining strong customer relationships throughout the loan cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Identify and acquire new customers through field visits, referrals, and market engagement.
  •  Onboard customers and conduct KYC, business assessments, and basic credit appraisal in line with Company procedures.
  •  Process loan applications and follow up on approvals and timely disbursement.
  •  Achieve assigned customer acquisition, disbursement, and portfolio growth targets.
  •  Educate customers on loan terms, repayment schedules, and responsible borrowing.
  •  Monitor customer repayment performance and identify early signs of repayment challenges.
  •  Work closely with the Verification and Collections teams to support quality lending and timely repayment.
  •  Maintain accurate customer records and submit required reports and market feedback.

Minimum Requirements

  •  KCSE Certificate.
  •  Diploma or Degree in any relevant field.
  •  Valid National ID.
  •  Computer competency.
  •  Strong interest in sales, lending, and customer service.
  •  Previous experience in microfinance is an added advantage.
  •  Applicants should be 30 years of age or below.
