ABOUT THE COMPANY

Mater Misericordiae Hospital was opened in 1962 by the Sisters of Mercy, a Catholic Order of Nuns originating from Ireland, three years after registering themselves as the Registered Trustees of an entity under the Perpetual Succession Act (the succeeding legislation after independence). The Sisters of Mercy first set up a 60 bed general hospital to cater mainly to poor, indigenous Kenyans, with the primary mission being general healthcare.
In 1970, a maternity ward was opened with antenatal, postnatal and immunization clinics attached in order to upgrade the quality of maternity healthcare available to the poorer segments of the Nairobi population.

JOB SUMMARY

Required Qualifications for the Position• Diploma in Medical Imaging Sciences or BSc Radiography.• Two (2) years working experience.• Registered and licensed by the Kenya Nuclear Radiological Authority (KNRA).• Registered, up to date member of the Society of Radiography Kenya (SORK).• Hands-on experience in MRI and CT

RESPONSIBILITIES

▪ Responsible for preparing the room and equipment for patient examinations.▪ Taking x-rays/performing radiological examinations as prescribed by a medical practitioner.▪ Assisting the radiologist perform special examinations e.g. barium meals.▪ Processing x-ray images, documentation and dispatching.▪ Ensures that examinations are carried out in consistency with the procedure protocols,patient conditions, physical abilities and age requirements▪ Maintaining a radiological register of patients.▪ Maintaining the consumables register▪ Participate in the planning and execution of the department CME▪ Provide image intensifier services when required▪ Provide radiographic services in Cath-lab.▪ Mentors junior Radiographer
