RESPONSIBILITIES

Undertaking clinical procedures in Accident for Emergency, Wards, Clinics and Outpatient Centers.Initial patient management, Assessing, stabilizing and determine the disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services.Providing care to patients in the intensive care setting in conformance with unit policies.Making decisions regarding immediate management and further referral of patientsConducting ward rounds on daily basisEnhancing evidence-based practiceMaintaining patient confidentiality and professional work ethicCarrying out on the job training for mentorship of Senior Registrars in the specialist recognition program and Medical Officers in the clinics and wardsFacilitating continual medical education sessionsParticipating in major disaster managementParticipating in research, developing clinical protocols, and facilitating CMEChampioning continuous quality improvement in clinical practice and service deliveryAdvocating for patients and champion continual improvementEnsuring all standards are met including quality of care, turnaround times, effective communication amongst and quality customer service amongst others.Participating in on-callAny other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
