Purpose
The Senior Site Engineer is responsible for infrastructure-related activities to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of technical systems. This is achieved through maintenance, testing, and surveillance of all installed assets.
The role involves troubleshooting, assembly, and day-to-day scheduling of maintenance tasks. The SSE provides technical, preventative maintenance, repairs, installation, and customer service support to meet agreed SLAs and maximize client satisfaction.

Job Magnitude
Latitude: This role reports to the Facility Manager, working within the operations team and in collaboration with all other departments. External contacts include clients and suppliers.
Level of Impact:The role is critical in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of data center operations. The Senior Site Engineer:
● Ensures the stability and reliability of critical assets supporting customer equipment.
● Maintains operational efficiency and supports agreed customer SLAs.
● Coordinates maintenance tasks to mitigate unplanned outages and failures.
● Contributes to maintaining a clean and organized data center environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Operations and Compliance
● Coordinate and execute equipment or system switching procedures, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption to operations.
● Contribute to operational energy efficiency and implement assigned optimization measures.
● Provide solutions for site management and adhere to SLAs agreed in customer contracts.
● Ensure site overall appearance and cleanliness, escalating shortfalls when necessary.
● Proactively indicate and report if SLAs are in danger of being breached.
● Ensure all work is carried out within a 'safe system' and approved work processes, complying with best practice standards and legal requirements.
● Lead and manage projects to identify root causes of facility issues, acting as an escalation point for more junior team members.
● Handle technically complex and challenging situations, troubleshooting, and providing solutions for potential critical infrastructure availability.
● Drive adherence to company safety policies, operational efficiency, and core values.
● Ensure compliance with industry standards and legal requirements.
● Perform on-call duties and manage incidents as necessary.
● Document progress, issues, and results, and implement improvement measures.
● Demonstrate advanced proficiency in technical skills pertinent to the role, covering troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
2. Maintenance and Repair Works
● Guide junior engineers in maintenance and repairs of data center equipment and building systems.
● Execute maintenance and repairs of building and equipment, documenting all work in a timely manner.
● Manage maintenance and repair operations, including coordination of contractors.
● Supervise contractors and suppliers installing and maintaining critical equipment.
● Responsible for troubleshooting, assembly, and supporting the day-to-day scheduling of maintenance activities.
● Act as a point of escalation for technical troubleshooting of equipment during maintenance and repairs.
● Make decisions regarding maintenance and repair tasks within set operational guidelines.
3. On-Call Duties and Incident Management
● Conduct day-to-day site monitoring and surveillance of the data center building and infrastructure.
● Manage incidents in close cooperation with the supervisor in charge.
● Support and, when mandated, be responsible for activating and executing Emergency Operating Procedures.
● Act as the first line of response on alarms and handle or escalate alarms according to guidelines.
4. Documentation and Reporting
● Document progress, issues, and results to support audits and customer inquiries.
● Report and document operational standard deviations, initiating improvement measures.
● Record changes to data center infrastructure per change management procedures, notifying the Facility Manager.
● Document progress, issues, and results of all assigned maintenance tasks.
● Execute and draft Method of Procedures (MOPs) and Change Requests (CRs).
5. Health and Safety
The Senior Site Engineer ensures adherence to all Health and Safety measures, including but not limited to:
● Preparation of work permits for approval by the Facility Manager.
● Adhering to the four-eye policy in all operations.
● Preparation of Method of Procedures (MOPs) for operational activities.
● Performing risk assessments before undertaking any operations and seeking relevant approvals.
● Preparation of Change Management forms for approval by the Facility Manager.
● Adhering to the overall QHSE responsibility matrix.

Additional Responsibilities
● Execute ad hoc projects as instructed, including but not limited to fire safety initiatives, environmental sustainability, energy efficiency optimization, security enhancement, compliance audits, and technology integration.
● Be an active participant and make observations and suggestions towards improving data center effectiveness and efficiency.
● Perform any other tasks assigned by the Facility Manager or the person in charge.

Qualifications and Competencies
Hard Skills
● Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering(highly preferred), or a related Engineering field.
● Minimum of 6 years of experience in operations and maintenance of electrical and/or mechanical systems.
● Skilled in troubleshooting and maintenance of fire detection and suppression systems and HVAC systems.
● Skilled in operations and maintenance of UPS, Generators, Access Controls, and Switchgear.
● Excellent problem-analysis skills.
● Strong troubleshooting skills and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) capability.
● Skilled in customer communication and handling customer requests/complaints.
● Skilled in service-oriented software, task handling, and administration.
● Skilled in Microsoft Office and Service Management applications (e.g., Excel).
