WORKSHOP MANAGER - Mai Mahiu
Job summary
Our client is seeking to recruit a highly competent, hands-on, and results-oriented Workshop Manager to lead the Repairs and Maintenance Department at the Quarry Operations in Mai Mahiu. Responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all maintenance and repair activities for the quarry crushing plant, and all other company assets.
Job descriptions & requirements
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
• Minimum of 10 years' relevant working experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team of technicians and artisans.
• Strong knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
• Experience in maintaining and repairing crushing plants, conveyors, screening plants, generators, pumps, and other industrial equipment.
• Good planning, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Computer literacy and ability to prepare maintenance reports.
• Flexible to work beyond normal working hours and respond to emergency breakdowns.
• Must be willing to work in Mai Mahiu.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and supervise the Repairs & Maintenance team.
• Plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for all plant and equipment.
• Ensure timely repair of breakdowns to minimize equipment downtime.
• Manage maintenance schedules, job cards, and maintenance records.
• Coordinate procurement of spare parts and maintenance materials.
• Monitor maintenance costs and equipment performance.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and workshop efficiency.
