About the Role
X1X provides business-grade Lenovo laptops through an affordable 12-month PAYGO (Pay-As-You-Go) model managed by smart hardware-locking technology.
We are not looking for smooth-talking salespeople who chase easy numbers. We are hiring disciplined Field Representatives who act as human gatekeepers—balancing community network building with strict credit evaluation and asset protection.
Key Responsibilities
Build Community Nodes: Onboard and manage local institutional partners (School Heads, Clinic Managers, Church Leaders, and Small Business Owners) and individuals, and to act as structured referral sources.
Field Verification (KYC): Conduct physical on-site visits to applicants' homes and workplaces to audit documentation and verify their true "Will to Pay" and "Ability to Pay".
Enforce Credit Culture: Clearly educate customers on their 12-month payment contract and our automated device-locking compliance systems.
Onboarding & Support: Guide approved clients through the digital registration workflow and manage initial post-delivery check-ins.
Candidate Personal Qualities
Investigative Intuition: Strong analytical, detail-focused mindset; ability to spot high-risk leads and the integrity to cancel applications that compromise data honesty.
Operational Discipline: Strict adherence to standardized company pricing, checklists, and workflows. No shortcuts or improvised offers.
Emotional Control: Calm, professional, and non-defensive when handling customer challenges or financial objections.
Local Network: Deeply familiar with your local community, with the professional presence to engage and partner with local institutional leaders.
Other Requirements
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with local business owners, institutions, and community leaders.
- Ability to conduct structured interviews, physical verification visits, and gather accurate customer information.
- Comfortable using smartphones, WhatsApp, Google Forms, maps, and digital onboarding tools.
- High personal integrity and accountability when handling customer data and company assets.
- Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision.
- Good judgment in assessing customer financial behavior, consistency, and reliability.
- Organized and able to maintain proper records, follow-up schedules, and reporting workflows.
- Familiarity with local business environments, informal income patterns, and community reputation systems.
- Basic understanding of credit, installment payments, or customer relationship management is an added advantage.
- Previous experience in field sales, microfinance, SACCOs, collections, logistics, agent banking, or community mobilization is an added advantage — but not mandatory.
- Must own or have reliable access to a smartphone and internet connectivity.
- Must be willing to travel locally for customer visits and verification.
