DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching & Learning

Deliver personalized lessons in Mathematics and Science aligned with the relevant curriculum.
Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual learning needs and abilities of each student.
Ensure lessons are engaging, interactive, and focused on achieving academic excellence.
Provide additional academic support where necessary to strengthen understanding of key concepts.

Lesson Planning & Curriculum Delivery

Develop customized lesson plans tailored to each learners academic level and learning objectives.
Prepare teaching materials, assignments, and assessments to support curriculum delivery.
Ensure syllabus coverage is completed within the required timelines.
Incorporate practical learning approaches and critical thinking activities into lessons.

Student Assessment & Progress Monitoring

Assess students academic performance through assignments, tests, and continuous evaluations.
Monitor individual learning progress and identify areas requiring improvement.
Provide constructive feedback and implement intervention strategies to enhance performance.
Maintain accurate records of academic progress and achievement.

Student Development

Foster discipline, confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards learning.
Nurture essential life skills, including problem-solving, communication, time management, and critical thinking.
Encourage curiosity, creativity, and self-directed learning.
Support students emotional and social development within the home-learning environment.

Co-curricular & Enrichment Activities

Plan and facilitate age-appropriate extracurricular and enrichment activities that complement classroom learning.
Organize educational projects, practical experiments, and recreational learning experiences.
Encourage participation in activities that promote teamwork, leadership, and personal growth.

Communication & Reporting

Provide regular progress updates to parents on academic performance and overall development.
Discuss learning goals, challenges, and recommended improvement strategies with the family.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while working within the household.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

Degree or Diploma in Education, Mathematics, Science, or a related field.
Teaching qualification (PGDE or equivalent) is an added advantage.
Experience teaching upper primary and secondary school learners (Years 6, 9, and 11) in a homeschooling or classroom setting.
Strong knowledge of Mathematics and Science curricula.
Excellent lesson planning, classroom management, and assessment skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patient, adaptable, and passionate about learner development.
