Laundromat Store Attendant

Job Summary
We are searching for an attentive Laundry Attendant to support the functions of our establishment. The Laundry Attendant's responsibilities include cleaning, pressing/ironing, and folding clothes and other textile articles. You should also be able to keep a record of which items belong to whom.

To be successful as a Laundry Attendant, you should demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Top-notch candidates will consult with customers to discuss supplementary laundering-related services that may be of use to them.

Assist laundry customers as needed with washers, dryers, vending machines and washer/dryer issues. Performs washing, drying, folding , ironing and drop-off laundry to customers according to procedures. Help to maintain cleanliness of store, machines, and customer satisfaction.

Attendant Responsibilities:

• Receives wash and fold orders and enters into computer
• Sorts laundry items received for washing by colours and whites
• Removing stains from items using the appropriate procedures.
• Performing minor sewing duties.
• Tracking which items belong to whom.
• Preforms washing of customer laundry
• Loads & operates dryers, insuring proper weight of load and correctness of temperature. Neatly fold and bag laundry for customer pick up.
• Iron textiles , package or put on hangers appropriately
• Maintains cleanliness of store by wiping countertops, machine tops and soap receptacles
• Make sure trash is not overflowing and floor is kept dry and clear of debris.
• Keeps bathroom clean and stocked
• Help customers using washers, dryers and vending machines
• Check lint screens for lint and cleans lint filters as necessary to maintain optimum efficiency of dry
• Reports any equipment not working properly to management.
• Provide change or refunds to customers.
• Restock soap on machines, and report on inventory counts
• Answer the telephone, manage payments and deliveries
• Always wear uniform during workday.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to work under pressure with a variety of customers and personalities.
• Must be good with people and work well with others
• Ability to work in multiple work locations is a plus
• Prior experience in a similar role is preferable.
• Familiarity with cleaning detergents and laundering equipment preferable.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Capacity to lift up to 20 kgs unaided.
• Basic arithmetic skills.
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Personable disposition with a knack for customer service.
• Available to work shifts and on weekends.

Compensation and Benefits: On average KES 15,000 a month
