Job descriptions & requirements
Reports to: HR Manager
Location: Remote, Kenya
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Duration: Approximately 6 months
Schedule: 40 hours per week
Compensation: KSH 600 per hour
Position Overview
The primary focus of this position will be supporting Medbill's recruiting and hiring activities, including candidate sourcing and screening, interview coordination, applicant tracking, and hiring administration. This position will also provide broader HR operational support as needed to maintain continuity during planned HR Team absences.
This is a hands-on position well suited for an HR professional who is comfortable managing recruiting activities independently while also shifting between talent acquisition, team member support, HR administration, and other day-to-day HR priorities.
Because this is a temporary coverage position, responsibilities may evolve throughout the assignment based on the needs and availability of the HR Team. While this position is designed as a six-month temporary assignment, strong performance may be considered for future project-based opportunities with Medbill as business needs arise. Continued work beyond the initial contract is not guaranteed.
Key Responsibilities
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
- Support recruiting activities for assigned positions from candidate sourcing through selection and offer
- Manage assigned recruiting pipelines with limited day-to-day oversight, ensuring candidates progress through established stages and hiring managers receive timely follow-up.
- Review applications and CVs using the Brighter Monday platform to identify candidates who meet established position requirements
- Proactively source candidates for assigned positions using appropriate recruiting platforms and sourcing strategies when applicant flow is insufficient.

- Help ensure recruiting processes are followed consistently and completed within established timelines
- Provide feedback on the full recruiting process and share opportunities for improvement
HR Operations & Team Coverage

- Maintain organized and accurate HR records and documentation
- Provide additional HR coverage and administrative support based on changing department needs throughout the temporary assignment

- Receive and forward power outage notifications and other call-offs to the leadership team
- Coordinate the shipping and/or pickup of equipment for new international hires with local equipment vendors
- Coordinate the return of equipment for offboarding international team members
Our Ideal Applicant
The ideal candidate has practical Human Resources experience with a strong foundation in recruiting and is comfortable stepping into an established HR function to provide dependable temporary support.
This position requires someone who can quickly learn existing processes, manage competing priorities, communicate professionally with candidates and team members, and recognize when an HR matter should be escalated rather than handled independently.
The successful candidate will be organized, responsive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a remote environment while maintaining close communication with the broader HR team.
