Job Summary


To offer overall leadership to the institution fraternity by prudently managing the college daily  administrative functions and operations including handling all staff matters, overseeing curriculum development and execution, student discipline, safety and welfare, handling college fees collection and budgets, business development through community engagement while building relationships with parents, the community to foster a positive, effective learning environment focused on student achievement  through a performance management structure and system.


Duties:


The main duties are to provide leadership, direction, and coordination within the institution by:

  1. Manage daily college operations under academic and operational targets and implement the institution’s mission and vision in line with the college policies and the five years’ strategic plan.
  2. Ensure financial accountability and effective resource management processes including collection of student’s college fees and prudent management of the college finances.
  3. Oversee examination scheduling, administration, and grading in collaboration with examining bodies and relevant academic departments.
  4. Perform overall TVET institution administration including managing training plans and time table schedules for part time and full time lecturers, regulatory requirements and compliance.
  5. Promote, advocate, and strengthen TVET partnerships and external linkages by representing the College during marketing activations or business development.
  6. Manage internal quality assurance of competency-based assessments by ensuring development of learning materials, preparing schemes of work and maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement and attendance.
  7. Hold custody of academic records of current and former students including certificates
  8. Participate in budget preparation and control the institution expenditure.
  9. To play the key role in fostering a positive college culture, supporting staff development, and maintaining accountability to educational regulatory authorities.
  10. Facilitate training, coaching, counselling, mentoring of staff and ensure equity, equality, and inclusivity in the workplace while stimulating active staff participation.


Minimum Qualifications & Experience:


  1. At least Bachelor’s degree qualification in education or business related courses, those with a master’s degree in TVET Management, Business Administration, Educational Leadership, or a closely related fields will have a definite advantage.
  2. Exceptional understanding of Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET), TVET policies and regulations, together with a futuristic focus on industry labor market trends.
  3. Proven progressive experience in management training in a college especially a TVET institution, tertiary college, or similar education organization including in a leadership position is highly desirable
  4. Proven experience managing institutional accreditation, quality assurance, and compliance inspections.

  1. Strong ethical leadership, robust decision making and critical thinking skills
  2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to listen
  3. Strong financial management especially on fees collection and strategic planning skills.
  4. A team player who is able to work cordially in teams, capacity to facilitate people working together as a team and demonstrate capacity to multitask.’
  5. A resourceful, open minded, innovative person with capacity to manage long term business relationships.
  6.  Ability to work independently with minimum supervision while cordially working with the directors.
