Job summary
· The main responsibility of the lodging manager is to oversee the day to day operations of the lodge, as well as coordinate activities and profitable operations of the establishment while ensuring that guests receive amazing services.
· The Lodge Manager will supervise all staff members.
· He/she will ensure optimum operations of the accommodation, conference, cyber cafe and carwash profit units.
· The Manager will spearhead the introduction of the Gym profit unit
Roles and responsibilities
Management:
1. Be responsible for performance of all the revenue units of the organization ensuring sales target are realized
2. Perform marketing and public relations activities;
3. Hold regular individual meetings with staff to set objectives, measure and review progress against targets.
4. Observe and monitor staff performance to ensure efficient operations and adherence to facility's policies and procedures
5. Train new staff, assign duties and schedule shifts if necessary;
6. Safeguard Company property against misuse, damage, loss including theft.
7. Ensure prompt payment of bills and supplier invoices.
8. Adhere to the credit policy of the organization.
9. Ensure cleanliness of the premise and excellent maintenance of all the amenities.
10. Maintain adequate stocking of all the essential consumables for the smooth running of the business.
Supervision:
1. Supervise all departmental heads; accommodation, carwash and cybercafé.
2. Ensure high standards of cleanliness and customer service are maintained in all company premises especially guest rooms
3. Monitor levels of sundry household items including cleaning supplies and be responsible for stock ordering within the agreed budgets;
4. Regular inspection of the Company premises including reception area, guest rooms & conference, carwash & cybercafe areas, and the corridors for cleanliness and appearance.
Maintenance:
1. Ensure all regulations are met in relation to Health and Safety compliance;
2. Conduct or supervise minor repair works within the lodge.
Administration:
1. Ensure compliance with the relevant laws and regulations for the business. Annual licences and subscriptions are renewed on time. All taxes and statutory payments are done promptly.
2. Ensure proper records are maintained.
3. Strive to have guests that are satisfied with all lodge services and amenities;
4. Respond to all enquiries pertaining to lodge services received by phone, email or in person;
5. Collect payments and record money earned and spent.
6. Maintain up to date records of the Company operations including profitability and cash flow analysis.
7. Maintain all client and suppliers records;
8. Monitor spending against budget in all operational areas and make recommendations relating to supply of goods and services to reduce costs;
9. Resolve occupants’ complaints regarding accommodation / services rendered
Academic and professional qualifications
· Minimum - Diploma in formal business or hospitality training.
Work experience
· At least 2 years working experience in a similar role / hospitality industry.
· Persons with professional experience of accounting or IT will have a definite advantage.
Required skills
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with guests and employees.
· Self-motivated, highly organized individual with a sense of initiative, creativity and enthusiasm
· Willingness to work long and irregular hours.
