STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Structural EngineerThe role will oversee structural design coordination, construction quality, site support, and compliance with applicable engineering standards while providing technical guidance to project teams.
Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering with a structural focus, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive post-qualification experience in large-scale, high-value building or infrastructure projects.
• Experience with high-rise buildings, bridges, complex foundations, or other major structures.
• Advanced knowledge of structural analysis and design software such as SAP2000, ETABS, ANSYS, Revit Structure, or RISA-3D.
• In-depth knowledge of international codes and standards, including Eurocodes, ACI, AISC, BS, and applicable Kenyan standards.
• Demonstrated experience across the full project lifecycle, from conceptual design and detailed analysis through construction documentation and site support.
• Experience in finite element modelling, seismic analysis, and steel, concrete, and post-tensioned structural design.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• High degree of professional ethics and technical responsibility.
• Proactive approach to sustainable and resilient structural design.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead detailed structural analysis, modelling, design, and calculations for complex projects.
• Prepare and review structural drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate structural designs with architectural, MEP, geotechnical, and other engineering disciplines.
• Provide technical guidance and oversee structural works on site.
• Review construction quality and ensure compliance with approved structural designs.
• Conduct structural condition assessments and prepare technical reports.
• Support structural cost control, budget management, and project scheduling.
• Advise on procurement of key structural materials and systems, including steel, concrete, and foundation systems.
• Support contract and vendor management for structural works.
• Ensure structural works comply with HSE requirements and applicable Kenyan regulations.
• Maintain structural safety certifications and technical documentation.
• Mentor junior structural engineers and provide technical guidance.
