ABOUT THE COMPANY
Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kenya-AIST) was established as a legal entity through publication in Kenya Gazette Supplement No. 117, Legislative Supplement No. 55, under Legal Notice No. 130; and as Constituent College of Dedan Kimathi University of Technology on 8th July, 2022. Kenya-AIST is an institution of strategic national importance; and is modelled after the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
JOB SUMMARY
For Associate Professors (Kenya-AIST Grade 4 / Equivalent to Grade 14 of Public Universities):PhD in a relevant field from a recognized university.Minimum 5 years as Assistant Professor or 8 years of research experience.At least 40 scholarly publications (30 in refereed journals).Supervised 5 doctoral and 5 master’s students to completion.Evidence of patents or commercialized innovations (added advantage).Must meet the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of KenyaHow to ApplyInterested applicants should submit the following documents:Curriculum VitaeStatement of Research Interests and Teaching PhilosophyNames and Addresses of Two (2) Professional RefereesCopies of Academic and Professional CertificatesNational ID/PassportRelevant supporting documents
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership in research, teaching, and innovation.Develop and implement academic programmes and research strategies.Establish and lead partnerships with industry, government, and academia.Supervise postgraduate students and mentor junior faculty.Champion dissemination and commercialization of research outputs.Secure external research funding and promote interdisciplinary collaboration.
